As we enter into the season of weddings it is the perfect time to buy a dress. But where do we start? Thankfully you no longer have to wear hair damaging hats or outrageous fascinators. A lot of weddings have become more casual with people wearing maxi dresses and clashing accessories. My sister’s wedding, a friend even wore a beach dress! But perhaps that is going too far… With weddings extending to full day events you want a dress that is comfortable but also lets you let loose on the dance floor. To get you inspired I have found some of the best dresses across different price ranges to help you look fantastic on the special day.
Lets start designer. If you can’t afford over £500 for a dress then look to the designers for ideas. Net-A-Porter is one of my favourite websites for beautiful dresses. Here’s a few of the spring/summer ’12 selections:
Willow asymmetric silk-crepe dress for £775.
Amanda Wakeley belted draped jersey dress for £560.
Rachel Gilbert silk chiffon strapless dress for £695.
Issa silk jersy gown for £785.
Don’t be afraid to wear bright colours to a wedding. The bride will always stand out but there’s no harm for the cameras to point towards you. There’s a great selection of dresses on the high-street at the moment. You can always mix a new dress with vintage jewellery or vice versa. Shop the high-street:
Topshop embroidered organza dress for £60.
Miss Selfridge embroidered bodice dress for £95.
Dorothy Perkins grey bird maxi dress for £45.
Mango knot detail dress for £44.99.
